DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) — Patrick Murphy and three other pitchers combined for a shutout as the Dunedin Blue Jays topped the Tampa Tarpons 4-0 on Saturday.
Murphy (3-4) went five scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out six and walking three to pick up the win. Albert Abreu (2-2) went 3 2/3 innings, allowing four runs and six hits in the Florida State League game. He also struck out three and walked four.
All four runs came in the first inning, including a single by Alberto Mineo that scored Kevin Smith.
Ivan Castillo doubled and singled twice, also stealing a base in the win.
The Tarpons were held scoreless for the fifth time this season, while the Blue Jays’ staff recorded their fourth shutout of the year.
