TAMPA, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to locate two endangered children whose father may be trying to take them to Saudi Arabia.
Talia Alsubhi, 7 months old, and Mayar Alsubhi, 5, had been ordered removed from their home by a Hillsborough County judge after the girls’ father, Rami Abdulrahman Alsubhi, 36, of 6218 Paddock Glen Drive in the Westly Shores Apartments in the Westchase area, assaulted their mother, Amerah Salem Alghamdi, 33.
Alsubhi reportedly struck and choked Alghamdi on April 30 and was arrested for domestic battery.
Because of the degree of domestic violence in the home, a Hillsborough judge ordered the children removed from the home.
The Child Protection and Investigation Division obtained court-order authorization to take the children into custody but when child-protection employees went to the home Thursday, May 3, they discovered the family gone.
The sheriff’s office believes that, after being released from jail, Alsubhi fled with his family and may be attempting to return to his native Saudi Arabia. The Westly Shores Apartments where they lives is a short distance from Tampa International Airport.
The sheriff’s office says the mother and her children may be in danger.
Anyone with information on the family’s whereabouts is asked to call HCSO at (813) 247-8200 or dial 911.
